Shows and live performance have always played an important role in culture and social life. In this video, the playwright Tony Kushner reflects on what makes theatre unique, especially the power of live performance, the role of the audience, and the difference between theatre and other forms of media.

The video offers a thoughtful perspective on theatre as a shared experience and as a space for interpretation, imagination and reflection. It is a good opportunity to practise listening at B2 level and to work with more abstract ideas related to art, performance and culture:
